Project Overview

In this project, I was tasked with showcasing the new Cessna Citation Ascend through a series of cinematic “air-to-air” animations. The primary challenge involved re-purposing existing aerial footage and seamlessly compositing the new aircraft into the environment.

Using SynthEyes for precise camera tracking and V-Ray 6, I matched the complex lighting conditions of the original film, leveraging V-Ray’s volumetric clouds to provide realistic reflections on the jet’s fuselage. Multiple render passes were utilized in After Effects to ensure the Cessna branding “popped” and the final output met the exacting standards of aerospace marketing. The result is a photorealistic study in motion that blends legacy footage with next-generation visualisation.
